About
Kaye Shelton is an associate professor of educational leadership at Lamar University. Prior to joining Lamar University, she was the dean of online education for Dallas Baptist University. The DBU Online Education program now offers 56 online majors and degree programs, maintains a 92% course completion rate and has been a model program for many peer institutions. Dr. Shelton is a certified online instructor and winner of the 2005 Blackboard Bbionic course contest and the Instructional Technology Council's (ITC) e-Learning 2006 Outstanding Online Course award.
She co-authored the book An Administrator's Guide of Online Education as well as writing other recent journal articles and book chapters related to online education and also practices as an online education consultant and peer reviewer. Dr. Shelton is currently a mentor for Sloan-C exemplary online course development workshops, and is now a member of a Sloan-C oversight board for quality online faculty development. She also speaks at numerous workshops and conferences regarding online faculty development and the possibilities online education provides institutions.
Her recent dissertation focused on quality evaluation of online education programs and yielded a quality scorecard that may be used by program administrators for self-assessment. The scorecard may be found here - http://www.kayeshelton.com/final_scorecard.pdf
